The Challenge
Webflow's creative freedom. Shopify's commerce engine. No way to use both at once.
Designers and developers building e-commerce sites faced a persistent trade-off: Webflow offered unmatched visual control, but lacked a native commerce backbone. Shopify was the industry standard for e-commerce, but offered little room for truly custom front-end experiences. The two platforms were complementary by nature — yet completely disconnected in practice. Building a headless Shopify store with a Webflow front-end required complex custom development, putting it out of reach for most agencies and freelancers.
The Work
An app built from the ground up — product, brand, and distribution included.
Smootify was conceived, designed, and developed entirely in-house by Eclipse. The app creates a seamless bridge between Webflow and Shopify: real-time product syncing, CMS integration, and a no-code workflow that makes headless commerce accessible without custom infrastructure. Beyond the app itself, Eclipse handled the full product build — brand identity, art direction, website design and development, and copywriting. Smootify is available on both the official Webflow App Marketplace and the Shopify App Store, with a growing library of free and premium templates, documentation, and a dedicated user community.

A product used by thousands — and nominated at the Webflow Awards 2025.
Smootify quickly gained traction across the Webflow and Shopify ecosystems, earning recognition from Webflow's own CTO and accumulating thousands of active users worldwide. In December 2025, Smootify was nominated as one of five finalists for Tech Partner of the Year at the Webflow Awards — the most prestigious recognition in the Webflow ecosystem. What started as a solution to a real gap in the market became a product that's actively shaping how the industry approaches headless e-commerce.
